The Historic Harbor House Inn is perched on top of Mckown Hill and was built in 1869 by Captian Mitchel Reed, master of the world's largest wooden sailing ship of it's day the "William C. Carnegie". The Harbor House Inn is the highest point in the harbor with direct views of the Atlantic Ocean, Inner Harbor, and Mill Cove. Enjoy spectacular sunsets and glorious sunrises from our location. We are within walking distance of all harbor activities, including boating, shopping, and dining. We are centrally located to several lighthouses, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Maine State Aquarium, Boothbay Railway Museum, and the Historic Opera House.
